Abstract Landscape
Hypogeal - Under the Surface - My student exhibition
In this series I am using the subterranean landscape as a metaphor for my personal landscape. I retain areas of empty white-ness to represent loss or damage. This could be read as physical damage to the environment through human intervention. It could also be the visualisation of emotional damage. Over the series you will see these areas of emptiness gradually become incorporated into the landscape, thereby revealing the recovery process. My intent is to show that we are not diminished by loss or change but rather enhanced and made better through the experience.
