​ I thought that it was time that I  too tried  to preserve the fleeting perfection of flowers. The seemingly endless variety and beauty  of living plants have for centuries provided an interesting source of artistic inspiration.  Colour pencil is quite well suited to capturing the ephemeral nature and descriptive details of flowers even though watercolours are the more traditional medium.
